10 Things I Always Pack For International Trips

Leaving the country soon? Here are my top 10 items I make sure to bring on every international trip. Whether it’s for business or pleasure, I try to be comfortable and prepared.

  1. Travel Plug Adapter
I have a lot of electronics with me when I travel and I typically need a decent adapter that can hold charge for different cables and plugs.
  2. Packing Cube Sets
Organization is underrated! These help me keep things separated but also remind me what I’m missing as I’m packing with them.
  3. Power Bank with Cables
I love this little thing so much!!! I don’t have to bring a bunch of cables with me and it fits in my bag for little adventures and dates. It charges my phone fast too, which I appreciate when I need the juice after using Google Maps for directions.
  4. Travel First Aid Kit
I throw this into my backpack and I know I’m covered for minor cuts and scrapes that I’m bound to get when I’m out and about.
  5. Reusable Water Bottle
Sometimes I fall asleep and get skipped for water. I fill this bottle up right after I pass security to make sure I have at least some water during my flight. I am really bad at drinking water when I’m traveling, so I need to have this a bright color and on the side of my backpack so I can make sure I stay hydrated.
  6. Foldable Waterproof Rain Jacket
I couldn’t believe how handy this jacket actually was–especially if you go to any part of Asia during wet seasons. When it rains for only 5 minutes at a time throughout the day, this is a godsend.
  7. Flushable Wipes
Let’s be real. Things can get messy all over and I don’t want to pack wipes for every situation. I keep a pack of these in my backpack in case I spill something or have an emergency in a place that does not have any toilet paper. It comes in handy!!!
  8. Anti-Diarrheal Medication
I never know when I need it, but I’m sure glad I have it when I do. Even my jungle stomach can’t withstand all the things I put in my mouth.
  9. Backpack
My lululemon crew backpack is pretty much my staple carry-on for all flights. I can fit my laptop, an extra monitor, and all my other junk in there with room to spare for snacks and my water bottle.
  10. Portable Luggage Scale
I hate the weight restrictions but I don’t want to pay extra fees for overweight luggage. This tool is so helpful when I’m packing the night before I leave.

I’m a planner. I get a kick out of making lists months before my trip. If you don’t have the time or feel like buying every single item you need individually, there are also travel kits on Amazon you can buy that should cover the essentials!
